Nicoletta Mazzali graduated in law at the Università degli Studi of Milan in 1996 presenting a dissertation on the liability of audit firms. She began her professional career at STUDIO LEGALE GSA.
In 1999 she cooperated with the Corporate Supervision Office of Consob (the financial industry regulator) in connection with a project concerning the enactment of new regulations on audit-related activities. In 2001, she attended a Master in M&A at the Università L. Bocconi, School of Management (SDA) in Milan.
She is specialized in commercial and corporate law, and assists companies and banks with regard to IPOs, takeovers and M&A transactions. Her practice includes providing advice to leading companies on corporate governance.
She has gained significant expertise in audit-related matters, including the independence and liability of auditors. She also assists clients vis-à-vis the Supervisory Authorities and gives advice on mergers, corporate finance transactions and LBOs.
She provides legal advice to projects and working groups organized by ASSIREVI (the Italian Association of Statutory Auditors) on the development of the legal regime concerning audit discipline, professional audit techniques and principles.
She gives talks and lectures at seminars concerning audit and financial reporting-related issues, and she is author of articles on auditing matters.
